JoyKC
About JoyKC
JoyKC is a faith-based nonprofit that provides free, faith-based programming for teens (ages 15+) and adults with disabilities in the Kansas City Area.
JoyKC hosts bi-monthly events on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at Community Covenant Church (15700 W 87th St Pkwy, Lenexa, KS 66219). Each event is themed (i.e. Sports Night, Minute to Win It, Sweetheart Dance). JoyKC utilizes a buddy system that pairs guests with disabilities who may desire additional support with trained volunteers.
JoyKC offers Community-Based Outings to provide fun, engaging experiences within community settings (Such as trips to the Kansas City Zoo, Royals Game, etc).
JoyKC facilitates Empowerment Workshops to equip participants with the skills needed for successful adult outcomes. Courses highlight a variety of topics such as job skills, leadership, and communication.
JoyKC facilitates a Parent Connect group to come alongside Parents and Caregivers through intentional friendship.
In 2023, JoyKC will also be hosting a theatrical, musical performance of The Lion King. To get connected to our community, please visit our website at: www.joykc.org. We would love to have you!
