Local artist, Steve Snell, will present about his recent painting adventure down the entire Missouri River and his river-based art practice. He will also be premiering an episode of Adventure Art on the Mighty Mo', his forthcoming video series about art, adventure and life along the Missouri River told through the act of painting, storytelling and paddling all 2,341 miles. Each episode takes place along a different section of the river, in which a watercolor painting is created. The act of painting is the vessel through which larger questions are asked, observations made and river stories told.
This project is generously funded by MId-America Arts Alliance, the National Endowment for the Arts and the state arts agencies of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. It is also supported in part by the Kansas City Art Institue.
If accommodations are needed, please e-mail the instructor at least one week prior to the program.
